Choose Life
A Value-based approach to HIV prevention.
Choose Life is a three day experiential and value-based HIV prevention training programme for faith, NGO`s, community and youth leaders. The curriculum is based on South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) registered unit standards and accredited by the University of South Africa (UNISA).
HospiVision’s Choose Life program has a unique focus on two key components, which are missing from current HIV prevention strategies. Firstly, an emphasis on values and a value-based lifestyle is needed to support the personal commitment to prevention and behavior change. Secondly, Faith-Based Organizations (FBO’s) represent a significantly underutilized resource in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
The programme focuses on:
- Two value frameworks (the Golden Rule and Ubuntu – “I am a person through other people”)
- Six spiritual values (respect, responsibility, integrity, fairness, love and service);
- The life skills of decision-making, assertiveness and negotiation.

Mission Mille
- You can make a difference in the spread of HIV through a monthly R100-00 debit order
- A 1000 monthly debit orders (R100-00) will enable HospiVision to train 1000 faith and community leaders in an UNISA accredited Biblical value based prevention program called “Choose life”.
- Each trained leader will reach at least 100 people with the message that life-style choices based on Biblical values can prevent the spread of HIV.
- Join us on this mission to train 1000 (mille) leaders.
