About the Care Train
Last year alone 34 000 terminally ill children went through the doors of the Tshwane District and Steve Biko Hospitals. Hospitalized children especially those who are terminally and chronically sick need specialized or “dedicated” care. This is particularly relevant in the case of children living with HIV and AIDS, as became apparent at the 3 HIV & AIDS treatment clinics at the Tshwane district Hospital in Pretoria. In response to this need HospiVision created a special ministry called the Children’s Care Train.
Part of this is a fully equipped outdoor and indoor play facility at the Oasis. There is an equipped playground, a push park for bikes, tricycles and trains, a wooden play house which will also serve to accommodate children on rainy days.
