There are 900 beds available in the Steve Biko Academic Hospital (SBAH) and a total ± 750 000 patients are treated at this hospital. The hospital is linked to the University of Pretoria for the training of medical students and a total of 4 500 people work here. HospiVision has an extensive volunteer programme for students with an honours degree in psychology at SBAH. Applications only open in October for the next year.
