This Mandela Day, the little ones, teachers, and parents at Curro Durbanville Preschool reminded us of the power of community and compassion. Together, they poured out their time, love, and creativity to make beautiful handmade blankets for our Mandela Day Blanket Drive.

These generous gifts were received with deep gratitude at Tygerberg Hospital this morning. The blankets will be shared with children in the Paediatrics ward, where many young patients arrive with little more than the clothes on their backs. For families coming from far-off towns, or for little ones whose hospital stays stretch longer than expected, these blankets mean so much more than warmth—they bring comfort, dignity, and the reassurance that they are cared for.

To all the parents and families of Curro Durbanville Preschool: thank you. Your generosity has made a BIG difference, wrapping our most vulnerable patients in love and comfort. Together, you’ve helped us live out the spirit of Mandela Day in the most beautiful way.
