About
De La Porte Oasis is HospiVision's dedicated skills development and community support centre, located at Tshwane District Hospital. Named in honour of our founding Managing Director, Dr André de la Porte, the centre represents the "physical support" pillar of HospiVision's mission—equipping vulnerable community members with practical skills and providing essential nutrition support.
Our Work at De La Porte Oasis
Under the coordination of Takalani Marulane, De La Porte Oasis provides accredited skills training programmes and operates a daily soup kitchen for patients and community members in need.
Skills Development Programmes
Our centre offers sponsorships and practical training in
Baking
Sewing & Needlework
Digital Literacy
Soup Kitchen
Our soup kitchen, sustained in part by our on-site vegetable garden, provides nutritious meals to patients receiving treatment—particularly those with HIV/AIDS who are on Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART). In 2025, we served 4,343 people, with women making up the majority of beneficiaries (3,156).
Impact
De La Porte Oasis transforms lives by addressing both immediate needs and long-term empowerment. Participants leave our programmes not only with full stomachs but with marketable skills that open doors to employment and entrepreneurship.
Donate
Your donation helps us assist patients, provide skills development, and maintain our office at De La Porte Oasis, ensuring we continue providing vital care and support.
