De la Porte Oasis
We have various programmes running at the centre on the premises of the Tshwane District Hospital
We are blessed with financial contributions as well as donations of vegetables and other ingredients to keep the soup kitchen running throughout the year.
The social workers refers patients who are in need of a meal and tea when they have to wait in line at the outpatient clinic. We've been able to serve more than 2000 patients at the soup kitchen.
The sewing and baking skills-training classes are going very well and some of the students from the baking classes even started their own profitable businesses by selling baked goods.
These classes act as a catalyst for economic empowerment and personal growth, enabling individuals to elevate their standard of living while fostering independence and self-sufficiency.
We are thrilled to announce that our vegetable garden has flourished over the past two years. This remarkable achievement is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and securing the future of our soup kitchen.
The gardener and staff involved with the garden are also part of a larger group of community gardens throughout Tshwane, who regularly receive training and advice from experts.
